Choosing the right caregiver for a loved one can be a daunting task. One that can quite possibly arise under stressful circumstances. I live and work out of state and did not have much support locally. Mom had another caregiver but was clearly subpar. I was given Maggie Ann's name through Mom's primary care physician which was a great start. I contacted Maggie, arranged for a meeting at Ma's house. RN Maggie has a very diverse and intriguing medical background. We talked over details of services, signed necessary paperwork, and started services within a week. I could not be happier with the care provided by her and Mom's primary caregiver, Angie. Mom and Angie became friends fairly quickly. Mom's a fairly independent widowed housewife. Any medical appointments either scheduled or sometimes last minute were handled through and by Maggie. Maggie's professionalism, experience, and dedication to the well being of Mom was never in question. Mom is unable to live by herself at this time, but I still use Angie to visit mom at her assisted living facility. Caring for a loved one, parent(s), is something most of us will eventually have to do. I wanted, and expected, the best possible care for mom and that's exactly what I got! ...Katelyn is doing a really great job. She really is going above and beyond for my dad and for the amount of money we're spending on his care. That is such a comfort to see. He had such a good week with her, he's calm, he's eating well. She's cooking meals for him, but what really touched me this morning when I went over to let the other caregiver in for the weekend, Katelyn had already made meals for him and portioned them out for the weekend, labeled them, and even added some breakfast granola yogurt mixes that she premade. I didn't ask her to do that. Any of that, she just did it only to help me out, but it makes my dad feel really cared for as well. It's the little things that make such a different week.
